Join us to celebrate leaders in disability advocacy.
The 2024 International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) is approaching on Tuesday, December 3rd, with the theme: Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.
In celebration of IDPWD, DANA is spotlighting leaders in disability advocacy and inviting advocates and organisations to nominate individuals who have made a powerful impact through their leadership. This is a chance to highlight how people with disability are actively driving the policies, programs, and practices that shape our communities and future.
Nothing about us, without us!
Eligibility:
To be nominated, you must be working as a leader in disability advocacy. The 2024 IDPWD theme recognises the leadership of people with disability, however it is up to the nominee if they wish to disclose their disability. This is not an award, but a recognition of important work in our sector by shining a spotlight on leaders.
Promotions:
We will be using our social media channels to spotlight all the eligible leaders who have been nominated. We encourage you to add a profile picture with their nomination form. Any social media graphics will be shared back to your organisation, via the email provided, for the opportunity to share with your community as well.
How to nominate someone:
Use the form below to nominate yourself, or a person with disability in a leadership role in your community or organisation. Nominate before November 30.
