Introducing two more opportunities for you to get involved and make a meaningful impact in the Priorities Project.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has already taken part in the Priorities Project. Over 60 advocates and policy staff have already provided their valuable contributions and insights to help us play a crucial role in shaping the future of disability reform.
Today, we are thrilled to extend an invitation of two more options for the disability community to actively participate and create a significant impact.
1. Survey for People with Disabilities: The Priorities Project survey is designed specifically for individuals with disabilities. We want to hear your views on the recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission and the NDIS Review, your vision for foundational supports, and where the Federal Government can initiate change. This is your chance to have your voice heard and drive meaningful reform. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until February 14th. We encourage you not only to participate but also to share this opportunity with your networks. Complete the survey here
2. Attend a Priorities Project Reform Session: DANA is hosting two interactive Zoom sessions on February 8th, titled “Reform: How Do We Get There?” We have a clear understanding of what Disability Rights Organisations (DROs), advocates, and individuals with disabilities want to see implemented based on the findings of the Royal Commission and the NDIS Review. Now, we want to engage in a collaborative discussion about how we can turn these aspirations into reality. Let’s discuss the practical steps we can take in the next 1-2 years to ensure that proposed reforms are not only initiated but are also guided by the perspectives and needs of people with disabilities. Topics of discussion include:
- Initiating education reform
- Commencing housing reform
- Launching safeguarding reform
- Making foundational supports a reality
Both sessions will comprehensively cover all these topics and will be open to DRO representatives and independent disability advocates. We are committed to accessibility, and both sessions will be captioned. If you require an Auslan interpreter, please let us know.
The insights and information gathered from these sessions will play a pivotal role in shaping our Priorities Project Report, which will outline a series of practical first steps towards reform.
