Tell the Government what you think about the Terms of Reference
The Australian Government has announced the beginning of a public consultation on the draft Terms of Reference for a Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
The Royal Commission will focus on what governments, institutions and the community should do to prevent, and respond to, violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.
The Royal Commission will hear from people with disability who have experienced violence, abuse, neglect or exploitation. It will help ensure their rights are protected and inform how to improve the safety and treatment of all people with disability, no matter where they live in Australia.
It’s essential that people with disability have input into the Terms of Reference. People can have their say in a public survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LSXH77X
This survey closes on Thursday, 28 March 2019.
Government has provided a Survey Hotline on 1800 880 052 if you need help completing the survey, or you can find a disability advocate at Disability Advocacy Finder
