On 15 July 2017, the Queensland Government announced that it will again provide the Taxi Subsidy Scheme (TSS) for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants. It will involve the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) reinstating the TSS for former beneficiaries who have had their subsidy cancelled because of transitioning to the NDIS, and also ceasing the cancellation of TSS memberships for people who are yet to transition to the NDIS. These arrangements will remain in place for the NDIS transition period, ending 30 June 2019. The process will commence shortly with new TSS cards to be sent to reinstated members progressively. It is expected that all former TSS members will be reinstated by Friday end-of-day, 11 August 2017. An FAQ released by the Queensland Government is able to be viewed by clicking here.
