Current Projects
DANA is pleased to announce the DANA partners in the Supported Employment advocacy program in partnership with Inclusion Australia. We are delivering and administering funding grants for this project, supporting stronger advocacy for people with disability in the workplace to ensure fair, inclusive, and accessible employment opportunities.
This is a joint project between DANA and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN). Following the Aged Care and Disability Royal Commissions, we have collaborated to develop AS 5391:2024 – Advocacy in Ageing and Disability, Australia’s first national standard for advocacy in these sectors.
In mid-2024, DANA took a proactive approach by launching the Future of Advocacy project, providing a strategic platform for advocacy organisations to unite behind a vision for the sector. DANA is working closely with advocacy organisations, people with disability, and key stakeholders to influence government funding and policy decisions to ensure advocacy is strong, effective, and accessible for all Australians with disability.
Completed Projects
Between May to August 2023, DANA was funded by the Australian Government to deliver an Engagement and Solution Project. This work partnered with years of engagement between DANA and disability advocates around the country about the problems and gaps in the area of safeguarding and quality.
The Priorities Project was about ensuring the work put in by people with disability, independent disability advocates, subject matter experts, families and allies across both reforms is honoured by creating a pathway towards reform.
