Current Projects
DANA is delivering and administering funding grants for the new Employment Advocacy Project, supporting stronger advocacy for people with disability in the workplace. In partnership with Inclusion Australia, we are working to ensure fair, inclusive, and accessible employment opportunities.
This is a joint project between DANA and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN). Following the Aged Care and Disability Royal Commissions, we have collaborated to develop AS 5391:2024 – Advocacy in Ageing and Disability, Australia’s first national standard for advocacy in these sectors.
This project aims to develop a proactive vision for a sustainable disability advocacy sector that can respond to the needs of people with disability, ahead of flagged changes to the National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP) and National Disability Advocacy Framework (NDAF).
We plan to work with members over the next six months to lead and shape sector engagement on a future vision.
Completed Projects
Between May to August 2023, DANA was funded by the Australian Government to deliver an Engagement and Solution Project. This work partnered with years of engagement between DANA and disability advocates around the country about the problems and gaps in the area of safeguarding and quality.
The Priorities Project was about ensuring the work put in by people with disability, independent disability advocates, subject matter experts, families and allies across both reforms is honoured by creating a pathway towards reform.
