Warning about new contracts for residents of group homes

Residents of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) group homes may be left vulnerable to short-notice eviction under new contracts with service providers. The contracts fail to meet NDIS standards, which states that a provider may not withdraw services without allowing a person enough time to find a new provider. NSW Council for Intellectual Disability argue the contracts reinforce concerns that new service providers will find it too hard to meet some residents’ needs, forcing them out of their long-term accommodation.
